Lord Nrsimha scares the anarthas away from the heart
We are celebrating the day of Narashinga tomorrow [4rd of May]. It is something special. Nara means man, and shinga means lion, all this appearance. It is in order to protect His devotees, that the Lord is so merciful that He can make any invention to protect. Therefore the viriya aspect of God is this appearance. Viriya means power. Then the power of God is within this appearance. It is explained that to eliminate the anarthas we should pray to Narashinga to give us strength to change the things that we can. What are those things? Ourselves we should learn to love, but the anarthas do not let us. The anarthas wants to have instead of to give, they seem like black insects that do not leave us in peace.

Our False Identity
We all have a very big false ego. In one way or another it comes out. This is actually the biggest obstacle for going back home to Godhead: our big fat false ego. And it sits on top of us. It say, I am not moving from here. So what is the medicine against this ego? That is the main question, because with that false ego we won’t get into the spiritual world.

The Bhagavatam
And if you want to have anything to do with preaching, I don't care if you have marbled buildings or any type of other facilities, if you don't teach the Bhagavatam systematically with a total voluntary decision to modify your life according to the standards given by the Srimad Bhagavatam, then all this effort is useless, it will all go in vain. The Bhagavatam is the key to get any spiritual accomplishment. The Bhagavatam is the only hope for the people in this dark age.

Serving the spiritual master
Servants of the truth means that everything you are aspiring for is fullfilled when you know that Krishna is satisfied, you don't have to get a separate pleasure. If I am sitting here and speaking today the Bhagavatam which has been specifically requested by my spiritual master for me to speak on, I am so happy, and I know that my spiritual master is satisfied. As a matter of fact I don't have anything else to accomplish further, because by reading the Bhagavatam and chanting the Holy Names of the Lord and serving the devotees, I know that this is what Krishna wants us to do. So if I die today, or die while I am chanting or while I am speaking about the Bhagavatam, there is nothing more lucky which could happen to me.

The mood of the Vaishnavas
„ Ok, I got to chant my rounds, I got to chant my rounds“ and of course we have to chant our rounds, we have to chant the Holy Name, because if we loose the contact with the Holy Name, this holy message, then we are going to be in maya for sure. But it should not be like that you are chanting your rounds because you have to chant your rounds, it must be that you chant your rounds because you want to chant your rounds.

A glimpse into the Art of Sadhana
Srila Puri Maharaja is very keen that the devotees live their spiritual life properly. So specifically in the days where it is highly in vogue to attempt to jump to the raganuga platform, and all of a sudden devotees who have not even been very keen on practicing anything for a substantial period, all of a sudden proclaim statements such as "Now we have to practice raganuga because we never did that before, because Srila Prabhupada didnt show this to us" or declarations of that type. Srila Puri Maharaja was very keen to show what is sadhana-bhakti really. This book is in one way the answer to this jumping into spontaneous self-delusion. Why do I say self-delusion?

The holy name
We can only pray that the devotees will have such a divine performance in their own private lifes that the people will actually think: "A devotee of Krishna, it's a real saintly person". That is our secret ambition, and obviously it is not easy if you consider our negative samskara, our negative past. It is not such an easy thing to aspire for, that the devotees simply turn around and become saints.

Grhastha-ashram
According to the principles of bhakti-yoga, the marriage ashram, the grhastha-ashram is actually a very sacred field of service and that service in the company with the wonderful, faithful wife is that even in dangerous circumstances you will not forget Krishna. You will always keep Krishna in the center of your life, that is the idea. Because when you keep Krishna in the center of your life, you can be sure that you will always have the right idea, for the right thing to do, so that you can actually help others in their spiritual life as well. Specifically your children. Like many times we discuss the principles of authority, who is the authority, well Krishna is the authority, the sweet will of God is the authority, the rules of dharma are the authority, the order and wish of the spiritual master is the authority, and whoever surrenders to those divine principles, well he is the authority, he is the natural authority.

We are in a foreign land
You are a resident in a foreign land, you have not been granted permanent visa, you have only been given temporary permit to be there and you also received working permit, but for granted and for sure you have not been given permanent entrance into any place in this material world, because in this material world everything is impermanent. Even if you are born in a place, you are always a stranger to that place, what to speak when you come to another country, another place, you can clearly understand that: "This is not my place, I don't belong here, people talk a different language, people look different, everything is different, they eat different food than I am accustomed to". So you can understand: "I am a foreigner here". So if you understand that: "I am a foreigner here", then why do you want to stay here permanently ?

Caste consciousness - get rid of it!
So to get rid of caste consciousness, that is very difficult, VERY DIFFICULT. I know sannyasis in name, totally caste consciouss, they think: "I am this, I am that", what type of sannyas you are ? You renounced the world to become a proud sannyasi ? Then why you renounced the world ? What type of renunciation was that ? Now you think that I am better then somebody else because I have taken sannyas ? You think that sannyas is the top caste ? Sannyas means the servant of the servant of the servant, he is totally dedicated to the pleasure of Krishna, that is the business of a sannyasi. And he should be completely kind with everybody. Now thats why Bhaktivinoda Thakuras song is very important, no ecstacy of the Holy names as long as you are in this consciousness of: "I am better then the others".

Spiritual life - a die to live program
It is then that I felt the conviction in my heart that it is a die to live program here. Because if you don't take this totally to heart, well you die simply, but not to live, you just die to die and die again. But we want to die to live, that means we want the false ego and the selfish concerns to die, the comforts, the privacy, the private economy, the: "I decide what I do", this thing has to die. I don't decide what I do. I don't decide whats to be done with my time and energy. My time and energy does not belong to me. It belongs to my master for the rest of my life. And whatever he tells me I will do, wether in union or in separation, that will be the test.

The human form of life
So in this material world they are always telling you: "Get more, get more, get more, get more, get more". Never it stops. Only when your body is so old, you cannot even enjoy it anymore. Some people they are very old, but they have very much money still, then they think: "Oh, how I am gonna enjoy that money quickly now, since I am becoming old". But can you imagine a 80 years old man buying a Rolls Roice ? What for ? (laughing). Even with a Rolls Roice you are still going to be 80 years old. When you see a nice car and a nice young man and a nice young woman and everything nice and very opulent, then you think: "Oh, it looks good, they seem to be enjoying". But how a 80 years old man can enjoy a Rolls Roice ? He only needs a Riksha (laugher). So this material world is actually just making a joke with us. The material world is somehow or other just showing how ridiculous we are.

Come to the forest of Vrindavan
When we are talking about the Gopis love for Krishna, our Gopis love today is the Sankirtan love. Now don't think that I am utilizing this for any propaganda purpose. Going out to convince the conditioned souls that they should act to please Krishna, that will make Krishna very pleased with you and make Srimati Radharani very convinced that you are belonging to that group of surrendered servants.

The beauty of Damodara-lila
So Krishna is captured by love. The infinite Lord, the Supreme merciful Lord, He is captured by the love of His devotees, imagine that my friends. Just imagine that. The love of the devotees is so great that Krishna feels captured by it. When Srimati Radharani is upset with Krishna, Krishna is very worried, He is very concerned with that: "How is it possible, how can I please Radharani again ? How will She forgive me ?"

Prabhupada - a flower offering
What a beautiful description. Prabhupada says: " You are pushing me to write this." One devotee said in the other day: " In the preaching you sometimes experience that you are saying something that in one way or another you didnt know before." You are listening to yourself speaking and how things are coming out of your mouth which are surprising to yourself. Becaues it is Krishna who takes over when you simply offer your heart and your mouth to him. And if there is somebody in the audience who needs to hear something and who has come on that day to that Sadhu to listen then Krishna is utilizing him and sending a message to that person. Thats a reality. Thats a divine reality we experience and we live with. So Prabhupada is confirming that: " My Lordship, you made me write these books. And now I am offering it to you as a flower offering. My dear Radha-Damodara, please accept this Gitar-gan."

Gaudiya Vedanta
Like you may talk about the impersonal interpretation of the truth. The impersonalist excludes the personal revelation. They simply ignore that and focus on a few Upanishadic shlokas which lend to believe that all is one, or lend to believe that unity and liberation is the highest. But because they ignore other sections they cannot substantialize their way of thinking. Whereas the gaudiya vedantist he don't excludes anything, and he can give within it's perspective, within it's portion a proper understanding of Durga-worship, Shiva-worship, Ganesh-worship, of Surya of whatever you may mention, unless it is some really speculative thing.

The secret ambition of a devotee
The priority and the importance is what did your Guru tell you you should do, thats where you have to focus. Do not think that I have to focus, and I have to safeguard myself against the instructions of my Guru by finding out somebodies elses commentaries and ideas. Then you are ungrateful. Then you become bogus. You do not have to councel. Otherwise the verse acaryamam vijaniyam, consider the Guru to be myself, would be of no meaning. If the Guru is not going to be the authority in my life, and of course there were it is going to come in: familiarity breeds contempt, then you find different persons making different propagandas. And they will ask you: have you never been to kamyavan ? Maybe you were not. And then they say: Oh then you don't know anything about Vrindavan, or something like that. Then you get worried. But it's not like that. The actual fact is that there is nothing more important then the Guru-seva in our spiritual life. And the Guru-seva is the Radharani-seva

Beggars of Love
You have bought me. I am nobody, I am simply a recipient of Your love. And if You want to give that love to me I am the most fortunate, and if not well then I will simply keep begging. There is no change, I will not give up Your love, I will not forsake You for any other proposal because only Your love can really fulfill this empty heart. This love is real, Krishnas love is real, and His love is such that He loves us more then we love Him. He is more eager for us to go to Him then we are eager to go to Him. But if at some point in your existence you decide you want that love then you have to become a beggar of love, like Nityananda Prabhu is proposing.

Songs to the sadhaka
So lonely! So many obstacles! So much adversity! Oh friend, my life razes! I fall in my prayers and feel alone. In this way I only find mishap and adversity and I return to my prayers. I take up chanting again I feel Your internal company. Your love in my heart and also yours, Oh sadhaka! And again I want to be like you and renovate my vows. Feeling united with the saints through my practice. What are vain conversations good for? What relief do they give the heart? Let us talk about the Lord. Let us feel His company. Bless me, Oh sadhaka! with your intense sadhana. Take me to your kirtan. Don't let me loose myself in the void.

Note that these transcripts are in a raw format and may have many literary mistakes. But we hope that you will appreciate the message being conveyed.
